Trekking to Sunkalsa

I think it was good idea to decide for going to trekking, as I was really bored of routine weekends and looking at mozilla code over the weekends. So I decided to chip along with guys who was going to trekking. Sunkalsa is around 350 odd kms aways from Bangalore and around 20kms before a small town named Kalsa, It is towards the Mangalore, i.e. is more closer to the Sea.
We started around 10.30pm on friday nite(2nd April 2004) in the bus from kampagowda bus station, Well bus was not that kool but still one could manage with it, With the start of journey only it started raining making it better journey, but only for travel as rain could be really disaster if one wants to trekk over rocks with dry leaves layering over them to make it worse. Really tried sleeping but no lucks, But I knew if I don't sleep in the nite for couple of hours than morning will be hell to climb so not stopped trying and around 2-3 am I could had a nap but just to wake back at 4am, and another 90 mins we was at our destination i.e. in SunKalsa, it is far smaller than town and bit bigger than a village. It was all dark so we guys decided to wait on the roadside only and start journey only with dawn, So another 20 mins we waited and started journey around 5.50am in the morning and once again it proved how early down to full sunlight occur I guess it took hardly 10 mins and there was all good amount of sun light all around the area.
For sunkalsa only the valley starts but still for 3-4 kms there is stone kindof broken roads and once can manage to drive(and few can manage to rally!) as there comes small small village, But after 3-4 kms the fun starts all dark forest covered by tree both side and small valley and sometimes you have to create the way too. Was good fun walking for around 5kms and than having breakfast which includes honey which really rejuvenated. There was really couple of nice water streams in the way, the big ones we could not reach as they was all covered by dangerous tree and had no access but we can always use the smaller ones and we did. Another good experience in the way was hearing the voice of rattle snake first time in open and that too right ahead of head...voice made me feared for the first time but not next time I tried locating but could not locate the ratlle, Though again proved I love the voice of rattle and really wantto see someday how do they manage to make such sound using there tail.
We reached our destination around 11 am after covering around 10kms, Just after reaching we had a energetic drinks rested for a while and putted our tents and than had lunch than moved here and there for a while and sleep for couple of hours(This weekend I slept more than I in normally when im at home :-) )
In the evening we again moved here and there but made sure we don't go far away, and than started the mist show, I really never thought mist can look that beautiful, mist was flowing over the hills and given really good hills though these kindof scenes can be hardly captured in a camera, but it was good scene than we had dusk view though it was not that good because of all the clouds around. But best scene of the trip I saw in nite around 9pm, we was at point where we could see complete half side of western ghats and then the wind started blowing and covered all the hills we could view and than stopped keeping all those hills covered and this became more beautiful with the presence of full moon and than after around couple of minutes small mint started and slowly unveiled the hills range, that was just the most beautiful scene of nature I ever saw and I still that have snap of it in 1k megapixel and 32 bit colors in my mind :-)
